Job description

llmda.ai is at the forefront of the hardware design revolution. Backed by top-tier investors and founded by an exceptional team of domain experts, we are building the world’s first Generative AI-based semiconductor design platform. Our mission is to unify hardware and chip design processes, integrating Agentic AI with semantic engines to automate analysis, drastically reduce re-spins, and identify design issues before they become costly failures. We operate as a dynamic, hybrid workforce with a "go get it done" culture, deeply committed to redefining how the physical world is engineered.

Role

As an ML/AI Engineer Intern, you will work directly with our core engineering and founding team to push the boundaries of Applied AI in hardware development. You won't just be working on isolated side projects, you will actively contribute to the AI fabric that powers our platforms. You will help research, design, and deploy LLM-based solutions tailored to complex embedded system environments, bridging the gap between generic foundation models and highly specific engineering data.

What You Will Do
  • Build Agentic Workflows: Assist in designing, prototyping, and implementing multi-agent AI systems that can autonomously evaluate, synthesize, and validate engineering artifacts.
  • Model Optimization & RAG: Work on prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and fine-tuning generic LLMs to excel at hardware-specific contexts (e.g., interpreting Verilog, SoC requirements, and IP user guides).
  • Data Pipeline Development: Help ingest, clean, and structure fragmented technical data from internal engineering documents to be processed by our semantic engines.
  • Evaluate & Iterate: Develop and monitor evaluation metrics to track AI output quality, ensuring accuracy and consistency while eliminating hallucinations in critical technical environments.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with software architects, front-end developers, and hardware domain experts to integrate AI features smoothly into the llmda product suite.
What we are looking for
  • Education: Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Core AI/ML Knowledge: Strong fundamental understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and modern Transformer architectures.
  • Programming Chops: High proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and LLM orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
  • Problem Solver: Comfort with ambiguity and open-ended problems, paired with a passion for diving deep into complex technical domains.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill and explain complex AI concepts.
Bonus Points
  • Hands-on experience with multi-agent system frameworks (e.g., AutoGen, CrewAI).
  • Background, coursework, or strong interest in hardware design, VLSI, embedded systems, or EDA tools.
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (such as Verilog or VHDL).
  • Previous internship or project experience deploying GenAI/RAG applications into production environments.
Why Join Us?
  • Be Part of the Success Story: Join a company with significant early traction and blue-chip customer validation.
  • Groundbreaking Impact: You won't just be selling another incremental EDA tool; you will be deploying a platform that fundamentally transforms how the industry approaches hardware design using AI.
  • Culture of Action: We value innovation, fast implementation, and a collaborative environment where your technical expertise directly shapes the company's trajectory.
  • Growth & Ownership: As an early deployment leader, you will help define the customer success playbook for the entire company.

We offer competitive medical, dental, vision insurance for employees and dependents. This includes medical, dental, and vision premiums.
