We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer with active security clearance to drive the development and integration of AI applications for mission-critical products.

Job Description

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will focus on designing, developing, and integrating machine learning models into downstream systems and platforms that support AI-driven, mission-critical applications. You will work closely with data engineers, software developers, and mission stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and secure AI solutions that enable real-time decision-making in high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for mission-critical applications, ensuring seamless integration with downstream systems.
• Build and maintain scalable AI platforms to support real-time data processing and model inference in secure environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into production systems, ensuring reliability and performance under strict operational requirements.
• Optimize models for efficiency, scalability, and accuracy in resource-constrained or classified environments.
• Implement robust MLOps practices, including model versioning, monitoring, and automated retraining pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with data security, encryption, and governance standards for classified systems.
• Provide technical expertise in AI/ML best practices and mentor junior team members.
• Stay current with advancements in AI/ML technologies and recommend innovative approaches to enhance mission outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance or higher (TS/SCI preferred).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a focus on model development and integration.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow, or similar) for deploying and managing ML models in production.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and integration with downstream systems (e.g., REST, gRPC).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure, scalable AI infrastructure.
• Familiarity with data security and compliance requirements in classified environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in defense or aerospace industries, particularly with real-time AI applications.
• Familiarity with edge computing or deploying ML models in resource-constrained environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines) for AI platform development.
• Experience with geospatial data, computer vision, or natural language processing in mission-critical contexts.
