As part of Honda's global network, the organization offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where employees are empowered to make a meaningful impact in the automotive industry.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative AI/ML Solutions Architect to join Honda Dev. and Mfg. of Am., LLC. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that support our automotive research and development initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating production-grade AI systems for vehicle development, simulation, manufacturing quality assurance, and digital twin technologies. You will own the entire AI lifecycle—from data ingestion and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including CAE, CAD, manufacturing, and data platforms, you will mentor engineers and ensure the delivery of scalable, reliable, and innovative AI solutions that drive Honda’s technological advancements and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, along with extensive practical experience. You should have at least 8+ years of experience developing and deploying ML/AI systems, with a minimum of 3+ years in production environments. Deep expertise in graph neural networks (GCNNs, GNNs, GATs, MPNNs), proficiency in Python, and familiarity with C++ or Java for automotive applications are essential. Strong knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn is required, complemented by a solid foundation in statistics, optimization, and numerical methods. Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including services like Amazon Bedrock, is highly desirable. Additional skills include experience with MLOps tools (Docker, MLflow, CI/CD), model governance, responsible AI frameworks, and familiarity with physics-informed ML, surrogate modeling, or simulation work. Prior experience in automotive or design engineering is a plus, as is knowledge of LangGraph / LangChain & Strands SDK.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and validation of impactful AI/ML solutions tailored for automotive engineering, CAE, and manufacturing use cases.
  • Design and implement AI surrogate models utilizing Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (GCNNs) to enhance or replace traditional physics-based CAE simulations.
  • Architect and deploy scalable cloud-based AI systems on AWS or Azure, ensuring compliance with enterprise governance standards.
  • Manage the full AI lifecycle, including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Implement best practices in MLOps and GenAIOps, including version control, drift detection, CI/CD pipelines, and traceability.
  • Develop agentic AI solutions for CAE workflows, deploying AI agents in the cloud to execute, augment, and monitor engineering processes.
  • Support ETL activities related to ADC data structures, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, code quality, and documentation practices to facilitate reuse and auditability.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
