Job summary

LUZA Group is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to deploy models into production and maintain ML pipelines. You will collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers, building scalable Python solutions and CI/CD workflows.

You should have 3+ years of professional ML experience, strong Python skills, and comfort with AWS/GCP/Azure. A hybrid work model with 2 days per week in the Lisbon office is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional ML engineering experience.
• Strong Python development and software design skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and ML deployment.
• Familiar with ML pipelines and MLOps practices.
• Fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.

What You'll do:

• Deploy machine learning models developed by Data Scientists into production environments.
• Build, maintain, and support ML-focused CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor production models, track performance, failures, and key metrics.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Develop clean, scalable, and testable Python code.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Data Engineers.
• Support model deployment and data transformation initiatives.
• Optimize model performance, response times, and operational efficiency.
• Manage production model lifecycles and deployments.
• Contribute to building MLOps practices from the ground up.
• Support automation initiatives for model retraining workflows.
• Deploy and manage ML workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Build and maintain model-serving APIs using FastAPI or Flask.
• Deploy and optimize ML solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.

Who You Are:

• Machine Learning Engineer with 3+ years of professional experience.
• Strong Python developer with experience in OOP, testing frameworks, and software design patterns.
• Skilled in SQL and data manipulation.
• Familiar with MLOps principles, Git versioning, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Experienced with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Comfortable working with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experienced in CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and production deployments.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong ownership and accountability.
• Collaborative professional able to work effectively across teams.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Fluent in English (minimum B2 level).
• Available to work in a hybrid model (2 days/week in the Lisbon office).
