Independent Printing & Packaging is seeking a Machine Finishing Assistant to support post-press operations, helping with setup, operation, and maintenance of bindery and finishing equipment used in folder production. You will work closely with machine operators to ensure quality and on-time production.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment, with full-time, hourly scheduling Monday-Thursday 2:00pm–12:00am, and a wage aligned to experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the make-ready, setup, and operation of bindery and finishing equipment to support production goals.
• Review job tickets to understand job specifications, including quantities, stock requirements, and special instructions.
• Assist machine operators with equipment adjustments to maintain consistent product quality and production efficiency.
• Monitor finished products for quality and promptly report defects, inconsistencies, or other concerns.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production standards and procedures.
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving stock and finished products as needed.
• Work effectively with machine operators, team members, and other departments to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Starting Wage

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
