Job summary

Actalent in Bridgman, MI is seeking a Machine Designer to develop mechanical designs for custom automated equipment from concept to final review. You will deliver conceptual and detailed solutions that meet performance, manufacturability, and schedule requirements while supporting customers and production teams.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls engineers and project managers, create drawings, perform FEA, and travel within the US and Canada as needed to support reviews,

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience designing automated production equipment.
Proficient with SolidWorks CAD and FEA.
Willingness to travel within US/Canada.
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and customers.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical components and subassemblies for custom automation.
Create engineering drawings and documentation to standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure project success.
Provide technical support during production and commissioning.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
