Job summary

Plascore is seeking a Machine Design Engineer II to design machinery that improves efficiency within the business unit and supports new product launches. You will develop machines to replace high-man-hour processes and devise ways to operate machinery more efficiently.

The role follows a 1st shift, Monday–Friday, with standard hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Responsibilities include obtaining and finalizing machinery requirements, vendor selection, testing, and ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years progressively more responsible experience.
• A professional level of knowledge in a field equivalent to a four-year engineering degree.

Job Location: 500A - ZEELAND, MI 49464, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Job Shift: 1st shift, Job Category: Engineering, As a Machine Design Engineer II, you will design machinery to improve efficiency of the business unit and supports new product launches. Develop machines to replace machines with excessive man-hours as well as coming up with better ways to make machinery operate more efficiently. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select vendors and assist purchasing to assure best pricing delivery of machine components.


• Monitors project status for completion requirements.


• Perform tests and record results in order to prove feasibility of design.


• Responsible for the approval of machinery for production.


• Manage and assure security of machinery drawings on the network.

• Continually looks for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:

• A professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to that ordinarily acquired by completing a four-year baccalaureate program in an engineering field.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
