Machine Center Electromechanical Maintenance Technician (3 PM to 3 AM)

This position is located in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

Role

The Electromechanical Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, machine overhauls, machine installs, inspections, services, and general cleaning on facility equipment and systems while exceeding safety expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a safe and organized workplace.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and service on machines in a fast‑paced production‑focused facility.
  • Work during plant shutdowns which typically occur on weekends and holidays.
  • Install new equipment or move current equipment to facilitate production efficiency.
  • Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Order and install replacement parts for machines.
  • Identify root causes of unexpected machine breakdowns.
  • Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Assist outside contractors as needed for special projects.
  • Use computers to create work orders, order parts, monitor systems, submit reports, accurately record time confirmations, and check email. Primary programs will be Microsoft Office suite, Indusoft, and SAP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • Vocational or community college coursework in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous industrial/electrical mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Previous welding/fabricating/plumbing/pipefitting experience preferred.Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and determine repair timelines relative to production.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers preferred.
  • Strong electrical aptitude and willingness to learn required.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to bend and install conduit or willingness to learn.
  • Identify voltage of equipment and ensure it is in an electrically safe condition (120V to 24,900V).
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn hydraulics, pneumatics, automated guided vehicle (AGV), and welding.
  • Robotic programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use forklifts, cranes, electrical pallet jacks, etc.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on elevated work structures while wearing appropriate PPE, including aerial lift platforms and catwalks.
  • Ability to work in and around dirty/dusty locations while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to work inside confined spaces while using appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, demanding production‑focused environment.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. continually and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and stand constantly throughout a shift.
  • Able to climb stairs/ladders, bend, stretch, push, pull, pinch, kneel, and move as needed.
  • Must be able to visually inspect parts and machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
