Job summary

Quality Vision International Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Machine Assembler to build and align QVI metrology equipment at our on-site facility. You will work from engineering drawings, use basic hand tools and measuring devices, and contribute to high-precision assemblies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly and use of common hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly diagrams.
• Strong focus on measurements, tolerances, and metrology concepts.
• Desire to develop skills in troubleshooting, computer operations, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fine‑tune mechanical, optical, and electrical subassemblies.
• Perform technical troubleshooting and assist in resolving assembly issues with guidance from leads and supervisors.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ISO work instructions to ensure accurate builds.
• Conduct functional testing and inspection to maintain high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and fine-tune a range of mechanical, optical, and electrical subassemblies under general supervision.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly, including experience with tools such as torque wrenches, drills, and sanders.
• Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, and metrology concepts.
• Technical curiosity and eagerness to develop in areas like computer operations, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Ability to read and follow technical documents such as blueprints and assembly diagrams.
• Detail-focused and disciplined, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Serious and professional in their approach, with a high standard of craftsmanship.
• Someone who enjoys variety and change while maintaining precision and focus.

Nice To Have

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic web navigation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Comfortable standing for long periods during production.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision tasks.
