Job summary

Hydromat, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machine Build Technician to assemble precision components Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm, in a climate-controlled facility in Missouri.

The role emphasizes blueprints, torque specs, hydraulics and pneumatics, and the use of Bridgeport mills or Hardinge lathes. Candidates with own tools and certification benefit from a dynamic, varied workplace where accuracy and safety matter.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with proper assembly and disassembly techniques.
  • Understanding fastener torques and how things fit together.
  • Able to read blueprints to assemble components.
  • Attention to details and keeping work area organized.
  • Knowledge of the metric system is a plus.
  • Understands hydraulic and pneumatic concepts and how actuators work.
  • Having own tools is a plus.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Dynamic and varied workplace, not the same thing everyday.
  • Troubleshooting skills a plus.
  • Ability to make small parts or modifications to parts using a manual vertical mill (Bridgeport) a huge plus.
  • Ability to make small parts or modifications to parts using a manual lathe (Hardinge) a huge plus.
  • Machinists, Maintenance machinist, industrial maintenance technicians, and machine technicians are a good fit for this position.
  • Ability to layout, drill and tap holes manually and accurately. Is proficient with a hand drill.
  • Forklift certified a plus.
  • Crane certified a plus.
  • Ability to layout and bend conduit/tubing a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc programming a huge plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble components following approved procedures.
  • Interpret blueprints and tolerances to ensure proper fit.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and tool control.
  • Follow safety and quality guidelines consistently.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust parts as needed.
  • Assist in layout, drilling, and tapping operations as required.
