Job summary

Paper Machinery Corporation in Milwaukee, WI seeks a skilled Machine Assembler to join our precision manufacturing team. You will assemble complex machinery from components, read drawings, install bearings, shafts, gears, motors, and drives, and verify dimensions with precision tools.

Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Machine Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled individual who enjoys hands-on work, precision assembly, troubleshooting, and seeing a complex machine come together from individual components.

What You’ll Do
  • Assemble complex, high-precision machinery and mechanical assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Install bearings, shafts, gears, motors, drives, tooling, and other mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and related documentation.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, fits, and alignment.
  • Set up, adjust, align, and test machine components to ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Machining, Electrical, and other manufacturing teams to resolve assembly issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Take ownership of the quality and performance of the equipment you build.
What We’re Looking For
  • Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work accurately with tight tolerances and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify problems, determine the cause, and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to quality and workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience assembling industrial machinery, automated equipment, packaging machinery, or other complex mechanical systems.
  • Experience with bearings, gears, shafts, drive systems, pneumatics, or hydraulics.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Experience troubleshooting and testing completed machinery.
  • Technical school or mechanical training is a plus.
