The Team Leader is responsible for all store activities in the absence of salaried management. They exemplify the company's culture through the execution of the Mission and Values, demonstrate excellent customer service, lead store associates, and oversee store operations. The role requires developing expertise in store culture, merchandising, shrink control, and operations, with a focus on career growth towards senior management. The Team Leader must understand the local market, customer base, seasonality, competitors, and other factors influencing the business. They serve as role models, leaders, and problem-solvers, managing their time effectively to meet store goals while instilling company values in all associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote and uphold the company's Mission and Values daily, ensuring all associates are informed of store and company expectations.
  • Define and demonstrate aggressive customer service to exceed customer expectations.
  • Supervise associates as assigned.
  • Maintain enthusiasm, commitment, and energy, motivating others.
  • Provide solutions to customer inquiries.
  • Stay updated on current programs and procedures, communicating them effectively to the team.
  • Coordinate merchandise orders based on sales trends and customer demands.
  • Complete cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Lead by example, adhering to the company's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Train new associates in product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service.
  • Maintain the appearance of the sales floor and stock areas, including stocking and creating displays.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and achieve sales goals.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and safety, addressing hazards as needed.
  • Perform price checks and updates efficiently.
  • Be certified in all relevant store areas, including forklift operation, DOT compliance, gate, receiving, and service desk.
  • Complete required training courses, master store procedures, and customer service skills, including specific tasks like key cutting, paint mixing, and lock keying.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications

Must demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and management skills with limited supervision. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, vendors, and staff. The role requires understanding customer service principles, developing management and organizational skills, and interpreting data for operational decisions. Physical requirements include climbing ladders, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
