Job summary

Apple Inc. in Sunnyvale is seeking a highly motivated engineer to test and optimize power and power efficiency on all new Mac technologies.

You will collaborate with software, QA, hardware engineers, and project managers to deliver best-in-class battery life and reduce environmental impact. You will collect and analyze power data, design tests for HW/SW features, and drive power optimizations to meet targets.

Qualifications

• BS EE/CS or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1 year of experience in QA, Quality or Testing environment (Power QA preferred).
• Understanding of computer architecture, operating system concepts, EE fundamentals, and concepts of power consumption and power management.
• Ability to dive deep technically, learn new technologies, and understand the small technical nuances of a system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or management.
• Experience in test planning, validation, uncovering issues, and driving issues to resolution with engineering teams.
• Coding and scripting experience to support basic automation and tool development (Python and shell preferred).

Description

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $123,700 and $218,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
