Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a hands-on assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble and spot weld components, operate equipment, and ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are met.

Daily tasks include reading blueprints, applying PPE, performing 5S housekeeping, and maintaining tool readiness. Overtime may be required; join a global leader building iconic brands.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge.
  • Strong orientation toward safety and company policies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by all Safety regulations and policies.
  • Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed.
  • Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times.
  • Perform daily housekeeping task and maintain 5S standards in your work location and department.
  • Be willing to work outside of current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed.
  • Complete First Piece Inspection protocol and related paperwork.
  • Assemble and spot weld various components to meet quality and production standards.
  • Operate and troubleshoot necessary equipment to assemble and spot weld components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including changing tips and floats.
  • Use fixtures when required and work with others on multiple person operations.
  • Check spot welds for strength and inspect all parts using measuring tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Abide by all Safety regulations and policies

  • Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed

  • Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times

  • Perform daily housekeeping task. Help maintain 5S standards in your work location and whole department

  • Must be willing to work outside of your current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed

  • Must complete First Piece Inspection protocol and related paperwork

  • Assemble and spot weld various components such as drawers, panels, brackets, tops, bases, etc. which meet appropriate quality and production standards

  • Operate and troubleshoot all necessary equipment to assemble and spot weld components

  • Perform preventative maintenance including changing tips and floats

  • Uses fixtures when required

  • Work with other employees to complete assemblies on multiple person operations

  • Check spot welds for strength

  • Use measuring tools to ensure adherence to part/product specifications

  • Check and inspect all parts

  • Move finished assemblies to appropriate area


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Basic mechanical abilities

  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

  • Organizational and communication skills

  • Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge

  • Strong orientation toward:

  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate

  • Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required

  • Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily

  • Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team

  • Able to safety maneuver large cabinets frequently to complete fabrication

  • Able to twist, bend, reach, and grasp frequently
