The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team in a primary care setting. They assist with patient care, administrative tasks, and medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider to ensure a smooth, efficient, and patient-centered experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and phlebotomy as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and perform front-office duties as required.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
- CPR certification required.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in using EMR systems (e.g., Practice Fusion, Epic, or similar).
Practice Manager – Primary Care
Job Summary:
The Practice Manager oversees the daily operations of the primary care clinic, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient business practices. They supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate schedules, and implement policies that enhance performance and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support clinical and administrative staff, including medical assistants and front desk personnel.
- Oversee scheduling, billing, inventory, compliance, and overall clinic workflows.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including OSHA, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.
- Manage clinic budgets, vendor contracts, and purchasing decisions.
- Facilitate staff training and professional development.
- Address patient concerns and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Collaborate with providers and owners to optimize service delivery and business growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare management role.
- Knowledge of EMR systems, billing processes, and insurance claims.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus (depending on patient population).
