Job summary

Providence Health and Services seeks a Medical Assistant II for the Anchorage area. Under supervision of a licensed practitioner, you will perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs and administering injections to patients in a clinical setting.

Candidates must have accredited medical assistant training or equivalent experience with certification, plus BLS certification upon hire. Prefer National Medical Assistant Certification; experience in healthcare and prior MA work is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of medical assistant work experience including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and administer injections under supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Assist in patient care in the clinical setting and follow established policies and procedures.
• Support coverage within assigned clinics/locations as directed.
