Job Summary:

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures their well-being.
  • Administers medications and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
  • Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educates patients and families about disease treatment, self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, resources, and follow-up care.
  • Documents provider encounters, diagnoses, symptoms, discharge instructions, and prescriptions.
  • Transcribes patient orders and completes charts with lab and evaluation results.
  • Communicates with family and physicians as needed.
  • Works safely and alertly at all times.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent licensing education.
Experience:
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant speech, standing, walking; frequent lifting, sitting, reaching, and keyboard use.
  • Use of vision, smell, and hearing frequently; occasional lifting of patients and objects.
Required Licenses/Certifications:

For Illinois: BLS (AHA) and LPN license. For Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin: BLS (AHA) and LPN license issued by a compact state.
