Job summary

Amplify Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center, is seeking full-time Medical Assistants at its Cary, Fuquay Varina, and Apex locations in North Carolina. You will assist the clinical and administrative teams, prep patients for examinations, take histories and vitals, and support triage and follow-up communications.

Ideal candidates have a completed Medical Assistant program, CMA/RMA certification preferred, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or military medical corpsman program required.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • BLS certification required or ability to obtain within designated timeframe.
  • Experience working in an outpatient clinic, community health, or FQHC setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to serving underserved and diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic prep according to Amplify Health guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and screenings.
  • Assist RN or provider with patient triage, to include telephone triage.
  • Complete information gathering segment of triage with specified patient population.
  • Refer all problems and urgent needs to RN or provider and conduct patient follow-up post encounter.
  • Manage provider messages and test result reports in accordance with established site procedure.
  • Manage prescription and refill medication request paperwork under the direction of the provider and schedule appointments.
  • Review treatment related preparation instructions and follow-up educational material with patients and families as directed by provider or RN.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and compliant with infection control standards.
  • Provide culturally competent, respectful patient interactions.
  • Comply with HRSA, federal, state, and FQHC regulatory requirements.

Position Summary
