Job summary
Sony Music Publishing is seeking a Microsoft 365 Engineer to design, implement, administer, and optimize the Microsoft 365 platform across the enterprise.
You’ll work with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Power Platform, Defender, Purview, and Copilot to ensure security, governance, and adoption at scale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including licensing and tenant configurations.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and service usage; troubleshoot complex issues.
- Design and implement collaboration solutions to boost productivity (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Configure security controls; partner with security/compliance on audits and remediation.
- Support Copilot adoption and governance for AI-enabled services.
- Develop automation scripts for administration, reporting, and maintenance tasks.
- Lead migrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements; produce design docs.

IT oversees all technology and software throughout Sony Music Publishing
The Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of the Microsoft 365 platform. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, governance, and adoption of Microsoft 365 services across the enterprise.
The engineer serves as a technical expert for Microsoft 365 technologies including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Power Platform, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The role partners closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, compliance, service management, and business stakeholders to deliver a secure and productive digital workplace experience.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including:
- Manage licensing, service configurations, and tenant administration.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and service utilization.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Design and implement collaboration solutions that improve employee productivity.
- Configure and maintain Teams telephony, meeting, and collaboration capabilities.
- Support SharePoint Online site architecture, document management, and information architecture.
- Develop and maintain standards for Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive usage.
- Implement and maintain Microsoft security and compliance controls.
- Configure and manage:
- Partner with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Participate in security assessments, audits, and remediation activities.
- Support deployment and adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Configure governance controls for AI-enabled services.
- Assist business teams in identifying use cases and opportunities for productivity improvements.
- Monitor licensing, adoption metrics, and user feedback.
- Develop automation solutions using:
- Streamline operational processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
- Create and maintain scripts for administration, reporting, and maintenance tasks.
- Participate in technology projects involving Microsoft 365 services and integrations.
- Provide technical leadership for migrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements.
- Evaluate new Microsoft features and recommend adoption strategies.
- Produce design documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for Microsoft 365-related incidents and problems.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management processes as required.
- Maintain service documentation, knowledge articles, and technical standards.
- Support change management and release management activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 tenants.
- Experience implementing security and compliance controls within Microsoft 365.
- Experience with hybrid identity and authentication technologies.

The anticipated annual basesalaryfor this position is:
$104,400.00-$149,100.00
This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
