Citizens M&A Consumer & Retail team in Los Angeles seeks an Investment Banking Associate or VP to work with junior and senior bankers on U.S. middle-market transactions.

You will develop financial models, perform valuations, and help structure equity, debt, and M&A ideas for corporate and sponsor clients. You will lead meetings with clients, conduct due diligence, prepare information memoranda and pitches, and support business development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or similar role.
• Experience in Consumer & Retail sector is preferred.
• Intelligent and resourceful
• Professional / concise oral and written communication
• Strong technical skills (knowledge of accounting, modeling, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Self-starter / intellectual curiosity
• Strong work ethic / team player / high degree of humility, maturity, and integrity
• Ability to work efficiently and to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Managing and assisting with the preparation of financial models and business valuations.
• Supporting junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios (inclusive of equity, debt and/or M&A) to help the firm’s corporate and sponsor clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives
• Leading / participating in meetings with current and prospective clients
• Conducting industry and company due diligence
• Preparing and reviewing information memoranda and other transaction documents: draft key marketing and key transaction related documents
• Preparing and reviewing pitch/business origination materials and other presentations: develop and review pitches and other presentations and be an integral part of the team in delivering these presentations
• Assisting business development efforts
