5 Legal seeks an associate to join their Antitrust & Competition team for any US office. A candidate with 3 years of antitrust merger-review experience and a track record in major firms or government is preferred.

The role emphasizes advocacy, submissions, Second Requests, and trial-ready preparation, along with advising on merger agreements and due diligence. Excellent academics and Bar eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of antitrust merger-review experience.
• Experience in major law firms or government is preferred.
• Strong advocacy and submission skills for merger investigations.
• Ability to work in a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare advocacy and submissions for merger investigations (DOJ/FTC) and state AGs.
• Work on Second Requests and prepare witnesses for depositions/hearings.
• Litigate merger challenges and advise on merger agreements, due diligence and integration planning.
• Contribute to business development by explaining antitrust policy implications.
