Job summary

Mercy Hospital Ada is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist or Licensed Occupational Therapist (FT) to join our therapy team and deliver expert care for patients with lymphedema. You will assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing techniques such as complete decongestive therapy, manual lymph drainage, and compression garments to support long‑term health and mobility.

Qualifications

• Certification in Lymphedema Therapy preferred- OR willing to become certified within six months of hire date
• Licensed as an occupational or physical therapist
• CPR certified
• Master's or Doctorate Degree
• Previous clinical experience in lymphedema therapy
• Previous clinical experience in hospital-based inpatient services and/or outpatient therapy services

Responsibilities

• Comprehends and interprets medical prescriptions and medical history for physical or occupational therapy with focus on lymphedema diagnoses and creates plan of care.
• Administers lymphedema therapy including Complete Decongestive Therapy, multilayer bandaging, manual lymph drainage and compression garment application.
• Maintains accurate patient treatment records and progress.
• Provide patient and caregiver education for home management and reassessment.
• Develop home exercise plans and recommendations for functional modification.
• Coordinate care and advocate for access to services and resources for lymphedema patients.
• Serve as a subject expert and educator on lymphedema within the team.
• Establish and maintain relationships with patients, families, providers and staff for long-term management.
• Collaborate with vendors to secure compression garment coverage or funding resources.
• Engage in program quality and performance improvement activities.
