Job summary

The Help Group is seeking a Part-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for the Project Six residential program in Los Angeles, CA. You will support the health, safety, and well-being of residents ages 12–21, administer medications, and work closely with therapists, educators, and families.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, meticulous documentation, and compassionate care for youths with developmental or mental health needs. Hours are Mon–Fri mornings in LA County facilities.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license in good standing.
• Certification and experience administering injectable medications.
• Experience dispensing medications and performing general nursing duties.
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with adolescents and young adults with developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and non-prescription medications following guidelines.
• Collaborate with program psychiatrist during weekly meetings to review meds.
• Coordinate meetings with psychiatrist to process new orders and with pharmacies to procure meds.
• Assist families with medical assessments and health insurance transitions when needed.
• Maintain mandated documentation for medication administration.
• Provide nursing care for injuries and illnesses and document appropriately.
• Punch in/out on schedule and uphold a safe, organized work area.
• Respond to staff and parent inquiries regarding nursing services.
