Job summary

The Orchards Health Center, located in California, is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for full-time or part-time shifts. Responsibilities include administering medications, coordinating with RNs and CNAs, and responding to emergencies to ensure high-quality resident care.

The LVN must hold a California LVN license in good standing and have at least one year of experience in elderly care, preferably in a skilled nursing setting. Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations is required.

Qualifications

• California LVN license in good standing
• At least 1 year experience delivering direct nursing care to elderly/chronically ill patients
• Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist RN supervisor and oversee CNA-provided direct resident care to maintain quality care
• Contact residents' attending physicians for changes of condition and orders
• Notify families about changes in condition, obtain informed consents, and develop care plans with documentation
• Respond quickly and calmly to medical emergencies
• Knowledge of tube feedings, oxygen administration, catheterizations, suctioning and dressing changes
• Accurately administer medications and treatment procedures
• Assist with activities of daily living and transfers as needed
• Report suspected or confirmed abuse as a mandated reporter
• Participate in facility QA/PI program and infection prevention designee duties
• Communicate with staff, physicians and consultants to improve resident care
