Job summary
SuiteMate Healthcare Staffing in Carlsbad, TX is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a long-term contract assignment. The role involves delivering routine and emergency nursing care under physician orders, with a 4:00 PM–12:00 AM shift and weekly pay.
You’ll collaborate with RNs and physicians, document care in medical records, follow Joint Commission standards, and help maintain infection control.
Qualifications
- Active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license or Compact License recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and emergency nursing care per physician orders and care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, APRNs, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Document treatments and observations in medical records.
- Respond to medical emergencies and assist with emergency care.
- Collect laboratory specimens and conduct screening procedures.
- Educate care staff on post-treatment care and monitoring.
- Maintain infection control standards and facility safety policies.
- Ensure medical supplies and equipment are stocked and ready.
- Comply with Joint Commission Standards.
