Job summary

Healthcare Staffing Professionals is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to work in a state hospital in Carlsbad, TX. The LVN will float to different units, provide medications and treatments, and document observations as part of a dynamic healthcare team.

The role requires an active LVN license, strong communication skills, and comfort with Electronic Health Records. Schedule includes evening shifts with rotating weekends, 40 hours per week, and no overtime unless required by the facility.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid LVN license.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.
• Experience with IDD and psych preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Performs nursing procedures per regulations after demonstrated competency.
• Documents observations and communicates with the care team.
• Responds to emergencies and follows infection control procedures.
• Manages medical records in EHR or paper chart.
• Attends to patient safety and coordinates with unit staff.
