Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join a pediatric ambulatory clinic team. The role involves patient-focused assessments, clinical interventions, and delivering health education to patients and families within a physician practice setting.

The LVN must hold Texas licensure, have BLS certification, and preferably at least 1 year of pediatric clinic experience, working 40 hours weekly in a First Shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric nursing experience in clinic settings preferred.
• Current, valid LVN license in Texas.
• Current BLS certification.

Summary: The Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse functions in a collaborative practice alongside physicians and nurse practitioners within a physician practice or clinic setting. In this role, the nurse provides comprehensive ambulatory care by performing patient-focused assessments, executing clinical interventions, and delivering vital health education to patients and their families. They are responsible for skillfully and consistently performing daily clinical duties in strict accordance with established organizational policies and medical procedures.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday's 0800-1900

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing
• Minimum 1 year pediatric nursing experience in clinic or office setting or equivalent (i.e., Family Practice with heavy pediatric population) preferred
• Current, valid license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
