Description

Summary:

Provides care under supervision of physician or registered nurses for clinic patients, according to established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures when necessary and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities:

1. Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
2. Under the direction of the physician, performs basic patient care duties including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, collecting specimens (including phlebotomy specific to site), assisting providers in examinations and procedures, and managing patient flow through the clinic.
3. Answers phone calls, records messages, and assists providers with patient-related calls.
4. Assists in scheduling tests, obtaining results, and pre-certification.
5. Documents relevant patient information.
6. Assists providers with medication refills.
7. Administers medications and immunizations according to provider orders.
8. Cleans and restocks exam rooms, cleans equipment per policy, and orders supplies from the supply department, maintaining sterile technique and utilizing universal protocols.
9. Performs routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms.
10. Attends required meetings and in-service training, and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• CERT
• LVN License in the state of employment or compact
• BLS certification
