• $38.00 - $41.00 DOE

Lakeside Special Care, a Generations Healthcare facility, is seeking an LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team in our secured Special Treatment Program Unit for behavioral residents.

Position Overview: The primary role of the LVN in our Special Treatment Program Unit is to provide direct nursing care to behavioral residents, supervise, and assist with the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Mental Health Specialists. Supervision must comply with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be required by the STP Unit Director, the Director of Nursing Services, and/or Nurse Supervisor to ensure high-quality care.

Essential Duties:

• Coordinate with other resident services to ensure comprehensive care in the STP.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections by authorized government agencies.
• Review and update residents' written discharge plans.
• Assist in planning nursing services for discharge planning.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete injury/incident reports and medical documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and report suspected violations of resident’s protected health information.
• Complete and file required records during resident admission, transfer, and discharge.

Qualifications:

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
• At least 1 year of experience in a psych or secured facility or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of behavioral and nursing care needs.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations pertaining to nursing facilities.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement quality care programs.
• Enthusiastic about caring for behavioral residents and working as part of a team.
