LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse - Corrections

Job Description :

Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team at a California State Prison!

This position plays a vital role in providing essential medical care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

Details :

  • Schedule : 5 days / week, 8-hour shifts
  • Higher Pay for Travelers : Additional compensation for those commuting 50+ miles from the facility
  • Employment Type : Contract

Qualifications :

  • Active California LVN license (in good standing)
  • At least 1 year of LVN experience
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to pass a strict background check
  • Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer medications, including oral, topical, and intramuscular injections, as prescribed
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to RNs or medical providers
  • Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic medical treatments
  • Support patient mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
  • Conduct health screenings and collect patient medical history
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary
  • Ensure proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records
  • Ensure compliance with CDCR policies, state regulations, and facility protocols
