Description

Summary:

Provides care under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse for clinic patients, following established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures as necessary and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities:
  1. Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  2. Under the direction of the physician, perform basic patient care duties such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens (including phlebotomy specific to the site). Assist providers in examinations and treatments, and help manage patient flow through the clinic.
  3. Answer and record phone messages, and assist providers with patient-related calls.
  4. Assist in scheduling tests, appointments, results, and pre-certification.
  5. Document all patient-related information accurately.
  6. Assist providers with medication refills.
  7. Administer medications and immunizations according to provider orders.
  8. Clean and restock exam rooms, clean equipment according to policy, and order supplies from the supply department. Maintain sterile technique and follow universal protocols.
  9. Perform routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms.
  10. Attend and complete required meetings and in-service training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • CERT
  • LVN License in the state of employment or a compact license
  • BLS certification
