Summary:

Provides care under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses for clinic patients, following established standards and practices. Performs lab procedures as necessary and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform basic patient care duties under the physician's direction, including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, collecting specimens (including phlebotomy specific to the site), assisting providers in examinations and treatments, and managing patient flow.
  • Answer and record phone messages, assist providers with patient-related calls.
  • Assist in scheduling tests, managing results, and pre-certification processes.
  • Document all patient-related information accurately.
  • Assist providers with medication refills.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as per provider orders.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms, clean equipment per policy, and order supplies from the supply department, maintaining sterile techniques and universal protocols.
  • Perform routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing forms.
  • Attend required meetings and in-service training; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • CERT
  • LVN License in the state of employment or a compact license
  • BLS certification
