Job Summary

Provides care under supervision of physicians or registered nurses for clinic patients, following established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures as necessary and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Under the direction of the physician, perform basic patient care duties such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, collecting specimens (including phlebotomy specific to site), assisting providers in examinations and procedures, and managing patient flow.
  • Answer phone calls, record messages, and assist providers with patient-related calls.
  • Assist in scheduling tests, obtaining results, and pre-certification.
  • Document patient information accurately.
  • Assist providers with medication refills.
  • Administer medications/immunizations as per provider orders.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms, clean equipment following policy, and order supplies from the supply department, maintaining sterile techniques and using universal protocols.
  • Perform routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing forms.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current CERT
  • LVN License in the state of employment or a compact license
  • BLS Certification
