Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a LVN/LPN instructor for full-time evenings to teach at campus sites and oversee clinical rotations. Position requires CA RN/LVN licensure, appropriate nursing degree, and ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.

The role includes teaching lectures and clinical rotations evenings/weekends, staying current with nursing knowledge, and contributing to program development and student records management. Benefits for full-time employees apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CA licensure.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; ADN or BSN required by state.
• Meet faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• 3 years of nursing experience with BSN or 6 years with an ADN.
• Able to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction by using innovative teaching methods.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content during interactive sessions.
• Review and revise syllabi for specific courses within guidelines.
• Submit program reports to Director in a timely manner.
• Stay current with technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain student records including attendance and grades; assist data collection.
• Update clinical requirements, immunizations, and education records.
• Teach courses at various times/locations to meet program needs.
• Lead lectures and clinical rotations, including evenings/weekends.
• Participate in professional development and CE hours for licensure.

We are looking for a Full-time Evening Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team.

* Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay range:$104-115k/annually

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing
• 3 yrs of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 yrs of Nursing experience with Associates
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day to day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek)
