Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II to assist in planning and delivering patient care under the supervision of a licensed caregiver. After appropriate education, the role may expand in nursing process and IV therapy to support patient needs.

The nurse will maintain competency across diverse patient populations, identify safety concerns, and contribute to a safe care environment. BLS certification is required upon hire, with CA LVN license on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year acute care experience minimum.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse license required upon hire (California).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Under the general direction of a licensed caregiver, the Licensed Vocational Nurse II is responsible for identifying the needs of each patient and assisting in the planning and delivery of patient care. After appropriate educational preparation, it is capable of an expanded scope of care in the areas of nursing process and intravenous therapy. Maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. It can identify the ability of the patient to follow directions/instructions. It can identify safety concerns and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment and identify developmental milestones.
