Job summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse II (LVN II) at University of Southern California Care Medical Group provides therapeutic nursing care under RN/Provider direction, including phlebotomy, patient education, and assisting with exams.

Duties include vital signs, administering medications, EKGs, coordinating tests, charting, patient flow, and collaboration with physicians and staff. Requires graduation from LVN program, CA LVN license, BLS, IV therapy, and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Req High School or equivalent
• Req Specialized/technical training
• Req Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing Program
• Req 3 years Experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting.
• Req Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
• Req Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.
• Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
• Req Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information
• Req Able to make decisions effectively and with appropriate stakeholder input

Responsibilities

• Uses and practices basic assessment, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the plan of care.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains and records vital signs, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor procedures.
• Administers medications and assists with exams as permitted by license.
• Schedules diagnostic tests and manages patient flow.
• Prepares and maintains medical records and communications.
