Texana Center in Columbus, TX is hiring an LVN II for the full-time Behavioral Healthcare clinic. The nurse reports to the Clinic Manager, performs clinical nursing tasks under supervision, and provides quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
  • Licensed in the State of Texas or temporary license with 6 months to obtain permanent license; documentation of application to Texas Board.
  • Compact license is acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Texas driver’s license in good standing as defined by Texana Center procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care and services in Behavioral Healthcare outpatient clinics.
  • Communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team within a mental health care system.
  • Adhere to and promote clinic compliance policies.
  • Work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with flexibility; some travel may be required.

LVN II

Role Responsibilities

The nurse in this full-time position is supervised and reports to the Clinic Manager. Clinical nursing tasks are supervised by the clinic physicians. The nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care and services to individuals in Behavioral Healthcare outpatient clinics utilizing the nursing process. The nurse is also responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the compliance policy as required. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team within a multi-faceted mental health care delivery system. This position is 5 days per week Mon-Fri. Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to meet program needs as requested by the Clinic Manager. Some travel may be required.

  • 90% $24.81/hour
  • 95% $26.18/hour
  • 100%27.56/hour based on years of experience

Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Graduate of accredited School of Vocational Nursing
  • Licensed in the State of Texas or temporary license and must obtain permanent license within 6 months of hire and present documentation of application process to the State Nursing board for Texas.
  • Compact license is acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Texas driver's license in good standing as defined by Texana Center's procedure

Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Current SAMA certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience and some experience in mental health field
  • Experience in phlebotomy/EKG procedures
  • Basic computer skills
  • Spanish speaking

Job Related Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform SAMA and CPR.
  • Must be able to perform moderate lifting and carrying (15-44#), pushing, stooping, repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting.
  • Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle and have depth perception.
  • Qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
