Job summary

Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth seeks an LVN to join the Urgent Care Center team. The LVN collaborates with physicians and APPs to provide ambulatory nursing care, including focused assessments, interventions, and patient education in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The ideal candidate holds Texas LVN licensure, CPR certification (PALS within 1 year), and has 1 year pediatric clinic experience or similar nursing in a clinical/office environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Current Texas vocational nurse license.
• Current CPR certification.
• PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• 1 year pediatric clinic experience preferred.
• 1 year nursing experience in a clinic or office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides ambulatory nursing care in the Urgent Care Center under physician(s) and APP guidance.
• Performs patient-focused assessment, intervention, and education.
• Follows established policy and procedure to perform daily clinical duties in a fast-paced setting.

Summary

The LVN functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) and advanced practice provider(s)(APP) in the Urgent Care Center (UCC) setting. Provides ambulatory nursing care as directed by physician(s) and advanced practice provider(s), including patient focused assessment, intervention, and education. Skillfully and consistently performs daily clinical duties per established policy and procedure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic or office setting preferred.
• 1 year pediatric experience preferred.
• Current license to practice vocational nursing in the State of Texas.
• Current CPR certification.
• PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
