Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide total nursing care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring quality patient care. The role runs 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday, in the COPC: Saldivar-Deharo area of Dallas. LVN licensure in Texas with BLS is required.

Candidate must graduate from an accredited LVN program or hold a Texas LVN license (or Compact LVN license). No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing and/or licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Current LVN license or temporary LVN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or a valid Compact LVN license.
• Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Screens and prioritizes patients for timely treatment per physician orders.
• Assist with inpatient/clinic coordination and patient flow as directed.
• Maintain compliance with nursing rules, policies, procedures, and Joint Commission standards.
• Educate patients and families and participate in community outreach as assigned.
• Assist with precepting and training new staff as directed.
• Complete documentation according to established procedures.
