Job summary

Metrocare Services is seeking a licensed vocational nurse to join our care team in Texas. The role focuses on compassionate nursing care for individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs, administering medications, conducting assessments, and coordinating with physicians and families.

The ideal candidate will have an LVN license, at least one year of relevant experience, and strong communication and organizational skills to support a humane, trauma-informed care approach in

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• One year of experience, preferably with consumers with developmental disabilities.
• Current Licensed LVN in the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumer in identifying and articulating his/her problems and needs.
• Administer medication competently and safely.
• Intervene as guided to implement nursing actions that promote, maintain or restore health.
• Document all meetings and notes pertaining to consumer plans.
• Perform venipuncture using accepted technique with universal precautions.
• Perform nursing assessments.
• Demonstrate ability to manage consumers on medications commonly used by this agency.
• Provide physician extender services.
• Obtain vital signs as ordered.
• Provide patient and family training regarding health topics.
