The primary purpose of the LVN position is to provide direct nursing care to residents and to oversee the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and supports the facility’s commitment to maintaining the highest quality of care.
As an LVN, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties and provide leadership to nursing assistants on shift.
This role requires frequent movement throughout the facility and the ability to support resident care needs, including lifting, pushing/pulling, and assisting with transfers. The work environment includes resident rooms, nursing stations, and treatment areas. Exposure to infectious diseases and healthcare‑related hazards may occur.
