Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the supervision of an RN, the LVN staff nurse provides nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the 3 West LVN plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates the plan of care

What you will do in this role:

• Provide direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
• Assist with procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed.
• Perform lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Serve as a resource to department staff, students and volunteers to help deliver quality patient care.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current LVN Licensure that allows the practice in the state of Texas or Compact state--Required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification --Required.
  
  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school Diploma-Required
  
  

CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Medical/Surgical Nursing experience--Preferred
• IV certification preferred
• Reads and writes basic English--Required
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.--Required
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills--Required
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner needs.--Required
• Basic computer skills and proficiency--Required
