Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services in California is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care in facilities such as Veterans Homes, correctional health, or state hospitals. The role offers 12-hour shifts (days or nights), full-time and PRN opportunities, with 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Valid, active California LVN license.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• At least six months of direct patient care in the last 36 months.
• At least six months of experience using eMAR/EMR systems.
• Ability to meet California Code of Regulations Title 22 and Title 42 requirements.
• Ability to document patient symptoms and work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Capable of functioning in emergency and stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide nursing care, including administering medications, injections, and treatments.
• Take vital signs, monitor catheters/IV devices, and adjust treatments/dressings.
• Obtain specimens for diagnostics and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Monitor patient status and report findings to the care team.
• Participate in treatment planning and care plan development.
• Document treatments and patient responses in medical records.
• Follow safety, infection-control, and universal-precaution requirements.
