DESCRIPTION

The Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians ("LVD") is seeking a Clinic Custodian to provide cleaning and maintenance of the Health Clinic Facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of the LVD Health Center.
• Dust all surfaces weekly as needed.
• Establish and maintain routine schedules for waxing and buffing floors.
• Establish and maintain routine schedules for shampooing carpet and furniture.
• Clean interior and exterior ground-level windows as needed.
• Keep exterior grounds free of trash.
• Maintain exterior grounds horticulture (non-lawn) planting and upkeep.
• Distribute FedEx and UPS deliveries daily to respective departments.
• Maintain inventories of cleaning supplies and restock as needed.
• Order and replenish products in washrooms, lobby, breakroom, and kitchen areas.
• Set up community and conference rooms for scheduled activities.
• Report building defects such as emergency lighting or door lock issues to maintenance.
• Sanitize exam rooms, equipment, and surfaces.
• Assist with clinic activities as required.
• Work positively with coworkers and patients.
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets and chemical labeling.
• Assist supervisor with backup procedures.
• Comply with Privacy Act regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• No physical limitations; must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
• Vaccinations and yearly TB tests required.
• Attend training as required.
• Flexible with work schedule.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years of professional cleaning experience, preferably in a health facility.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Act of 1974.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Fast-paced with occasional high-pressure situations.
• May require PPE such as gloves or masks.
• Frequent interaction with individuals.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and carrying.
• Occasional bending and lifting.
• Use of computers, phones, and office machines.

Preference given to qualified individuals of American Indian descent.
