Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking an Engineer Systems 3 - Federation Manager to support NSWC Corona with Marine Corps LVC training at Quantico, VA. You will ensure system readiness, interoperability, and coordinated federation operations.

This role requires Linux/Windows experience, technical leadership, and a US Secret clearance. You will configure HLAs, synchronize data, and lead integration testing across the federation to enable realistic training environments.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience.
• Must be familiar with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.
• Must have technical leadership ability during LVC training event execution.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization.
• Must be familiar with MS Office.
• Current CompTIA Security + certification is required.
• Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational readiness of the LVC federation and plan for scalability.
• Oversee DIS and HLA protocols for interoperable data exchange.
• Stand up and configure HLA federations for training exercises and monitor performance.
• Manage and synchronize enumerations across simulation platforms to match the master class list.
• Assess compatibility of all systems with DIS and HLA protocols.
• Coordinate and manage system updates to maintain protocol compatibility.
• Conduct integration testing across federation participants.
• Diagnose and resolve DIS/HLA protocol issues during exercises.
• Provide real-time technical support during LVC training exercises.
• Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
