Job summary

Paylocity in New York, NY is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to join a luxury, high-volume culinary and stewarding operation. You will partner with the Executive Chef to develop menus, train a strong brigade, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency across all outlets.

This leadership role requires exceptional culinary technique, organizational skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum four years' experience as Sous Chef or Chef.
• Experience managing a kitchen and union team preferred.
• NYC Sanitation certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in menu development and tastings; standardize items.
• Lead onboarding and training of kitchen staff.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations; ensure luxury quality and presentation.
• Manage service across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquets.
• Monitor cleanliness and DOH-compliant food safety standards.
• Control labor, food cost, and waste; supervise and mentor staff.
• Coordinate with FOH and other departments; maintain schedules.
