Job summary

Villa Portofino in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a friendly Server to provide prompt service in the restaurant, bar, and patio. You will report to the Food & Beverage Manager and contribute to a welcoming hospitality experience.

The role requires greeting guests, taking and relaying orders, maintaining knowledge of the facility, and ensuring accurate transactions while working with a cohesive team. Flexible evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three months’ related server experience preferred.
• Must meet state and federal age requirements for serving alcohol.
• Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
• Ability to understand and implement dining standards.
• Ability to perform basic math and calculate discounts/percentages.
• Positive attitude and productive work environment contribution.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly fashion.
• Know the resort facility and dining area to answer guest questions about the menu and services.
• Write orders; relay orders to the kitchen and bartender.
• Serve and clear food/beverages following service etiquette.
• Engage with guests at tables to ensure needs are met and service is excellent.
• Work as a team under lead server or manager guidance.
• Report potential safety issues or guest concerns to a supervisor.
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Handle cash and card transactions and return correct change.
• Other duties as assigned.
