Colwyn Group in Manhattan is seeking a Design Director to lead the studio's luxury residential portfolio. The role demands a senior creative authority who mentors designers and oversees projects from concept through construction, ensuring flawless delivery and high-end detailing.

Reporting to the Founder and Principal, you will guide design direction, manage client relationships, coordinate with procurement and operations, and elevate the practice through industry leadership and strong team

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive professional experience in luxury residential design/architecture in NYC.
• 5+ years leading a design team of 5+ designers/architects.
• Proficiency in full residential drawing sets, millwork, detailing, architectural lighting, materials, and FF&E sourcing.
• Advanced command of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office.
• Deep relationships with NY trade resources, custom workshops, design centers, and artisans.
• NCIDQ certification or RA license preferred.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools (SketchUp, Revit, Rhino) and digital rendering platforms.
• Experience with design practice management tools (Studio Designer, ClickUp, Miro).

Aufgaben

• Creative Direction & Aesthetic Governance for luxury residential and development projects from charrette to installation.
• Oversee staff mentorship and studio leadership; manage staffing, milestones, and KPIs.
• Ensure SD/DD/CD quality, coordination, code compliance, and procurement coordination.
• Represent the practice in industry panels, awards, and publications.
