Job summary

Douglas Elliman Property Management is seeking an experienced handyman to support building managers in daily operations and ensure the residential building runs efficiently.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills across plumbing, electrical, boiler, roof, windows, drywall, and painting, plus ability to perform light duties such as snow removal and door repairs. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in residential buildings and interaction with tenants.
• Experience with hardware tools, electrical equipment, and power tools.
• Understanding of BMS, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• General carpentry knowledge such as hanging doors and trim.
• Ability to communicate with employees, contractors and vendors.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and respond to emergencies 24/7.
• High school graduate or trade certificate.
• Licenses such as S12, S13, P99 preferred.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness to keep facilities in good order.
• Support the Resident Manager with daily operations.
• Janitorial maintenance as needed.
• Builds and repairs cabinets, doors, and trim; minor fixes.
• Minor plumbing repairs; fix leaks and hardware.
• Report concerns to management; daily walkthroughs of spaces.
