Job description

Luxury Sales Executive – High-End Consumer Sales

San Francisco Bay Area | Primarily On-Site

$100,000 Base + Commission | Target Earnings Approximately $200K

The Opportunity

A rapidly growing Bay Area startup is disrupting the recreational vehicle industry with a groundbreaking, all-electric luxury RV designed for consumers who value technology, design, sustainability, travel, and outdoor experiences.

The company has moved beyond the early development stage and is now focused on accelerating commercial growth. With strong customer interest and a large pipeline of prospective buyers, the organization is expanding its sales team and looking for exceptional sales professionals who can close high-value consumer purchases.

This is not an order-taking or traditional showroom sales role.

We are looking for a proven high-ticket closer who understands how to sell a premium product that customers want rather than need. The right salesperson knows how to uncover motivation, build emotional connection, anticipate objections, create urgency, and confidently guide a customer toward making a significant purchase.

What You'll Be Selling

The product is a highly innovative, all-electric luxury recreational vehicle combining premium design, advanced technology, sustainability, and a dramatically simplified ownership and travel experience.

With a six-figure purchase price, customers approach the decision thoughtfully. Successful sales require much more than explaining features and specifications.

You’ll need to understand what the customer is trying to accomplish, how they envision using the product, what is preventing them from moving forward, and what will ultimately make them comfortable saying yes.

The typical customer is financially established and often already familiar with electric vehicles, premium technology, and luxury products.

What You’ll Do

A major initial focus will be re-engaging a substantial database of prospective customers who have previously expressed serious interest in purchasing the product.

You will proactively contact, nurture, and convert these prospects while also managing new inbound opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct approximately 50 outbound customer conversations and follow-up activities per day while building and managing your pipeline.
  • Re-engage prospective customers who previously expressed strong purchasing intent but have not yet completed a transaction.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations that uncover customer motivations, concerns, lifestyle needs, and decision-making criteria.
  • Proactively identify and address objections rather than waiting for customers to raise them.
  • Develop relationships with customers through repeated follow-up and longer consideration cycles.
  • Conduct virtual product presentations and occasional in-person showroom experiences.
  • Guide customers confidently through a significant discretionary purchasing decision.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline and disciplined follow-up process.
  • Develop deep product expertise and translate technical capabilities into meaningful customer benefits.
  • Consistently move qualified prospects toward a purchasing decision.
  • Achieve an expected performance level of approximately 5–10 sales per month following a 90‑day ramp period.
  • Occasionally assist with customer events, product demonstrations, and other sales activities.
Who We're Looking For

Industry experience matters less than your ability to demonstrate a track record of closing significant consumer purchases.

Ideal candidates may come from backgrounds including:

  • Luxury automotive or specialty vehicle sales
  • High‑end residential or luxury real estate
  • Luxury watches or jewelry
  • Premium furniture or home design
  • Boats, yachts, aviation, or recreational vehicles
  • High‑end fashion or luxury retail
  • Outdoor, adventure, or premium lifestyle products
  • Other high-ticket consumer sales environments

What these backgrounds have in common is the ability to help someone make a substantial purchase based not simply on necessity, but on aspiration, experience, enjoyment, convenience, lifestyle, or emotion.

What Success Looks Like

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their results with actual numbers.

You should be prepared to discuss:

  • Revenue you personally generated
  • Number of transactions you closed
  • Average transaction value
  • Monthly or annual sales volume
  • Quota attainment
  • Conversion rates, where applicable
  • Performance relative to your peers
  • Specific examples of customers you successfully converted despite initial hesitation or objections

Just as important, you should be able to explain how you sell.

The strongest candidates can explain how they build trust, uncover motivations, identify barriers to purchase, manage objections, maintain momentum through a longer sales cycle, and ultimately ask for and close the business.

The Right Sales Style

You are likely to succeed in this role if you are:

Consultative. You ask thoughtful questions and understand why the customer is considering the product before trying to close them.

Proactive. You anticipate concerns and address potential objections throughout the sales process.

Persistent. You are comfortable following up repeatedly without becoming transactional or overly aggressive.

Emotionally intelligent. You recognize that significant consumer purchases often involve spouses, families, lifestyle considerations, and emotion as much as financial analysis.

Comfortable asking for the sale. You build relationships, but you also understand that your responsibility is to move customers toward a decision.

Metrics-driven. You know your numbers and take personal ownership of your sales performance.

Entrepreneurial. You are energized by working in an environment where the sales playbook is still being developed and where your ideas can directly influence how the company sells.

This May Not Be the Right Role If…

Your sales experience has primarily involved customers who had already decided to buy before speaking with you.

You prefer answering product questions to actively moving customers toward a purchasing decision.

Your background has primarily been in enterprise software or transactional B2B sales without meaningful exposure to significant consumer purchasing decisions.

You rely primarily on warm inbound leads and are uncomfortable with outbound calling, re‑engagement, or persistent follow-up.

You enjoy demonstrating products but are less comfortable asking customers for the business.

Compensation

Base Salary: $100,000

In addition to base salary, sales representatives earn increasing commission based on monthly unit volume.

  • $500 per unit during the initial performance tier
  • $1,000 per unit as monthly production increases
  • $1,500 per unit at the highest monthly performance tier

New hires will also receive an additional $2,500 per month during their first three months while building their pipeline and ramping into the position.

The realistic earnings opportunity for successful sales professionals is approximately $200,000 annually, with upside tied directly to individual performance.

Additional Requirements

This position is primarily office-based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with occasional customer demonstrations, showroom appointments, virtual presentations, and limited event support.

Because the position may involve driving and assisting with product demonstrations, candidates must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete required background and driving‑record checks.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join an early‑stage company as an innovative product moves from introduction to broader commercialization.

Rather than stepping into an established sales organization with a decades‑old process, you'll have the opportunity to help determine how an entirely new type of premium product should be sold.

You'll work with a product that naturally generates interest and conversation, but you'll also face the much more interesting challenge of turning that excitement into purchases.

For an accomplished salesperson who loves closing high‑value consumer transactions and wants the opportunity to help redefine an industry, this is a rare opportunity.
